Essential Software: Text Translation Software

From time to time, I get foreign language posts to my blog, and being the courteous person I am, I like to at least put the effort into understanding what they are saying, rather than just curb their posts to the spam section of site admin, or leave them there because auto-spam says so!

Efficient Text Translation in over 75 Languages

The Babylon 7 translation software makes the process very easy by dint of a nifty key (and customisable) combination (by default; crtl + right-mouse button) for clicking on the words or passages in question and the fact that you don’t need to select the source language to convert from, as this is automatically recognised.Β  The software also predicts words and phrases you want, as you type them in the provided input box and automatically suggests choices to let you complete the word more quickly – good if you are unsure of how to end the word’s spelling. There is even instant spell check for checking and correcting text when typing on the Internet – in chatboxes, email, blogs, comment boxes, and forms.Β  The Babylon 7 software works offline, too!

This software is available in trial version – but a bargain to purchase.

Free Alternative Note: If you are going to be less frequently translating text, and your requirements lighter, you might want to check out the free online Babylon translation service offered on the site (see below, under Babylon Online Translation Service).
